Lead Developer for the Digital Channels unit

Digital Channels -unit develops Veikkaus’s digital services used by over 2 million registered users. With over a million visitors per week, Veikkaus.fi is the largest consumer web store in Finland. The Veikkaus Mobile App is also used by hundreds of thousands of Finns. As a Lead Developer, you are at the core of making sure these services are top-of-the-line now and in the future.

The focus in this position is in developing a modern web service. We work in agile development teams, consisting of developers, designers, QA specialists, analysts and product- and game experts. The diversity of the expertise of the teams and the variety in the types of projects we have enable learning new skillsets, technical or otherwise. We utilize data heavily in our development, do continuous a/b-testing, build our in-house machine learning capabilities, and do multiple daily debployments to production. High quality is a key requirement for us, as is a relaxed, innovative and fun environment for working!

We use FP/FRP -paradigms. Other magic words for us are React, ES6, Less, Bacon.js, Lodash, Gulp, Node.js, Webpack, GraphQL, AWS ja GCP. We expect that you already have extensive experience on web development and you are enthusiastic to learn more. You like working in an agile team and you have good communication skills. We build high volume and high value services directly to our consumer customers, so a passion for quality is a must.
