THE COMPANY

Kuźnia Polska S.A. is a renowned producer of steel elements for multiple industries. The company with over 200 years of history is specialised in forging. Kuźnia Polska is a manufacturer of top-quality die forgings that are bought by Polish and foreign customers, for instance in motor industry, mining, railways, and machine industry. The advanced production infrastructure supports the manufacturing of a broad range of forgings. The implementation of the IFS Applications™ system enhanced the processes in production, maintenance as well as in financing and the HR and payroll areas.

NEED FOR A CHANGE

Before the IFS Applications system was implemented, Kuźnia Polska S.A. used non-integrated IT tools and incohesive data prevented analysis of information and taking management decisions on an ongoing basis. Additionally, the maintenance of the IT infrastructure covering a multiple of stand-alone programs, was troublesome for the company. After an analysis of the ERP systems available in the market, the management of Kuźnia Polska S.A. decided to select the offer of InfoConsulting, a platinum IFS partner in Poland, to implement the IFS Applications 8 system. The solution was best suited to the functional requirements, in particular in the manufacturing area. The flexibility of the system guaranteed fast responses to market changes. The core objective of the implementation was as follows: data centralisation and ensuring ongoing access to information, providing the management with valid and accurate data to support fast and relevant business decisions.

IMPLEMENTATION

The implementation project was split into two phases:

  • an analysis during which consultants from InfoConsulting developed a design of the solution
  • implementation ended with a period of technical assistance after the production launch.

The IFS Applications™ system is used by 160 employees. Now InfoConsulting maintains and develops the solution.
